The following are guidelines for whether an alleged speeding motorist will receive a fixed penalty notice or a summons:

The following are sentencing guidelines for speeding offences:

* or disqualification for between 14 and 56 days. The maximum fine allowed in addition to penalty points or disqualification is £1,000, or £2,500 on the Motorway
